Dive Into YARN

It was time.  Yep.  Time for us YARN editors to share a little more about ourselves and what we think about YA, the writing process, editing, and maybe what we had for breakfast this morning. Sure, we throw great YA writing onto the site every few weeks for you to read, but that doesn’t help you get to know us.  And it certainly doesn’t help us get to know you–which we seriously want to do.  Since YARN is first and foremost a place for lovers of YA to get together and share our passion and get to know one another, we thought it was about time we started the dialogue.

So.  I’m very excited to bring you the very first in the YARN Blog.  Today, Assistant Editor Shannon Marshall will be writing about Magic in Realistic Romance.  Did you know that Shannon also mans the YARN Twitter page–check it out!

Next week, I’ll be hosting the YARN blog. After that, you’ll get to hear from Colleen and then from Lourdes! We hope you’ll join the conversation and we promise to respond!

Happy reading, and see you next week!

What Is YARN?

It's a brilliant thing to have a place where you can read fresh original short stories by both seasoned YA authors and aspiring teens. YARN is a great tool box for growing up writing. - Cecil Castellucci

Imagine. Envision. Write. Revise. Submit. Read.

YARN is an award-winning literary journal that publishes outstanding original short fiction, poetry, and essays for Young Adult readers, written by the writers you know and love, as well as fresh new voices...including teens.

We also believe in feedback, which is why we encourage readers to post comments on pieces that inspire thought, emotion, laughter...or whatever.

So. What's your YARN?
