Not ready for Halloween to end? Neither are we! Here’s one last treat from Jessy Randall:
Halloween
We were supposed to be going out but
your best friend held my hand
on Halloween.
He was a pirate. I was a gypsy.
Between the two of us we had
three hoop earrings.
He took off his hook where
we sat on the couch.
It was dark. We watched TV and you
sat on my right and your best friend
sat on my left. Hookless he
slowly got my hand into his.
I waited for you to notice.
I adore this poem so much. So fun, endearing and delightfully imaginative.
I love your style. It flows really well, and the ending is just… perfect.
