Happy Birthday to YARN, Happy birthday to YARN.  Happy birthday to Ya-ARN, Happy Birthday to YARN.

And helllo00000 2011.  Greetings from the frozen side of the country.

I’ve awoken form my all-too-short winter’s nap, and I’m raring to go.  Can I just say how psyched I am about our initial 2011 line-up?  We’ve got an essay by debut novelist Tomas Mournian (have you heard the buzz about him?  You will!!), and another essay by “Promise of the Wolves” novelist Dorothy Hearst–if you thought research was boring, think again!  Then, because who can have enough wolves, we’ve got a winter’s werewolf tale by master of the gruesome, Arthur Slade.

AND, we have an interview with Allen Zadoff.

As if all that weren’t enough, wait until you hear the fresh voices we have lined up for Valentine’s day, among other treats.

We’re reading, too.  New submissions come in all the time.  Why let someone beat you to it?  What’s your YARN?

Can’t wait to hear from you in 2011.

What Is YARN?

It's a brilliant thing to have a place where you can read fresh original short stories by both seasoned YA authors and aspiring teens. YARN is a great tool box for growing up writing. - Cecil Castellucci

Imagine. Envision. Write. Revise. Submit. Read.

YARN is an award-winning literary journal that publishes outstanding original short fiction, poetry, and essays for Young Adult readers, written by the writers you know and love, as well as fresh new voices...including teens.

We also believe in feedback, which is why we encourage readers to post comments on pieces that inspire thought, emotion, laughter...or whatever.

So. What's your YARN?
