Hello! We hope you are having a happy holiday season. We’re taking another short break from our official break to let you know our nominees for the 2105 Pushcart Prize anthology. For those of you who might not know it, the Pushcarts are the foremost, and most venerable, anthology for small journals. They pick some of the best short fiction, poetry, and nonfiction from the best journals every year and publish them in an annual anthology. They’ve been working with adult journals since 1976, and YARN is bound and determined to slip some YA in there! After all, great literature is great literature.
Here are our selections from 2014:
- “Missing Person” by Lelac Almagor
- “Tomorrow I’ll Miss You” by Catey Miller
- “Small Change” by Deb Vlock
- “Cuban-American Identity Crisis” by Margarita Engle
- “Migraine” by Holly Thompson
- “Rain” by Ellen Hopkins
Wish us luck! Thank you.
