So many exciting things are happening here at YARN this Fall.  Let us just give you a sneak preview of what you’ll find here in the coming months:

A season opener with “The Vodka Drinker“–a riveting, boldly honest essay about drinking so intense that the college-age author asked to remain anonymous (with our blessing).

An interview with Margie Gelbwasser, author of “Inconvenient” and “Pieces of Us” (seriously, people, if you haven’t read her yet, she’s amazing!)

Our annual Candy/Cookie Poem Drive and Contest.   Of course!

A VIDEO essay by cartoonist and graphic novelist Derek Kirk Kim.

Another interview with Mark Peter Hughes, of “Lemonade Mouth” fame.

Plenty more poetry, short stories, and essays by writers you know, and those you don’t (yet).

Blogs by our editors, lesson plans, and even a few surprises (Can anyone say “business plan”?).

As we move toward this exciting season, we want to know, “What’s your YARN?

What Is YARN?

It's a brilliant thing to have a place where you can read fresh original short stories by both seasoned YA authors and aspiring teens. YARN is a great tool box for growing up writing. - Cecil Castellucci

Imagine. Envision. Write. Revise. Submit. Read.

YARN is an award-winning literary journal that publishes outstanding original short fiction, poetry, and essays for Young Adult readers, written by the writers you know and love, as well as fresh new voices...including teens.

We also believe in feedback, which is why we encourage readers to post comments on pieces that inspire thought, emotion, laughter...or whatever.

So. What's your YARN?
