See you next year!

It’s that time of year again…..Time for the YARN staff to take a break from publishing new material so we can get ready for NEXT season.  You know, in 2017.  Seems like a long time from now, but it isn’t.  Soon we’ll all be doing the Back-to-School thing, then the Halloween thing, then the Thanksgiving thing….then, well, you know the drill.

Despite what the lazy summer dayz picture in this here post implies, we here at YARN will NOT be taking naps in a canoe.  We’ll be reading stories and essays and poems and finding a few new staffers as some of our long-time best have decided it’s time to move on.  And, we’ll still be live on Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr.  We’ll be reopening for submissions on September 15.

And in case you missed anything since June, we have some really excellent work you can check back in on, or read again (or you could look a little further back at 2015’s SCBWI Megazine Merit Award Winners).   If you haven’t checked out this week’s poetry by TEEN writer Brittany Menjivar, you MUST!

What Is YARN?

It's a brilliant thing to have a place where you can read fresh original short stories by both seasoned YA authors and aspiring teens. YARN is a great tool box for growing up writing. - Cecil Castellucci

Imagine. Envision. Write. Revise. Submit. Read.

YARN is an award-winning literary journal that publishes outstanding original short fiction, poetry, and essays for Young Adult readers, written by the writers you know and love, as well as fresh new voices...including teens.

We also believe in feedback, which is why we encourage readers to post comments on pieces that inspire thought, emotion, laughter...or whatever.

So. What's your YARN?
