YARN’s New Fiction Editor!

We are THRILLED to announce that YARN Alum and award-winning writer-teacher-editor Laura Williams McCaffrey will be our new Fiction Editor.

Actually, thrilled doesn’t even quite cover it.  We feel lucky-happy-dancing-grateful-yay-great-things-happen-party-down EXCITED.

Marked_lresBecause, you know, we PUBLISHED her.  Twice.  And she made us so proud by winning an SCBWI Magazine Merit Award for “Into the Vast”!  And then we published “Crow’s Face” just this past March.  Meanwhile, between short stories, she also published “Marked” a sci-fi page-turner that’s been racking up the awesome reviews.  She’s also been mentoring young writers in the Pine Manor MFA program, and just generally immersing herself in the world of YA and young people.  She’s a natural fit for YARN, and we are honored to have her.

Read more about her on our masthead.  And get ready to hit her up with your best fiction this fall!

What Is YARN?

It's a brilliant thing to have a place where you can read fresh original short stories by both seasoned YA authors and aspiring teens. YARN is a great tool box for growing up writing. - Cecil Castellucci

Imagine. Envision. Write. Revise. Submit. Read.

YARN is an award-winning literary journal that publishes outstanding original short fiction, poetry, and essays for Young Adult readers, written by the writers you know and love, as well as fresh new voices...including teens.

We also believe in feedback, which is why we encourage readers to post comments on pieces that inspire thought, emotion, laughter...or whatever.

So. What's your YARN?
